The lack of wind is the protagonist of the first day of the Trofeo Ciutat de Palma - Bufete Frau

Only the Optimist completed one race (except for the red group)

December, everyone in short hand sleeves, the sea like a mirror and a very light breeze that reached only 5 knots are the first day's images of the 69 Trofeo Ciutat de Palma Bufete Frau, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP) that has gathered 400 sailors from 16 countries.

Only two of the three Optis groups (blue and yellow) have completed a race. The  rest of the fleet was not able to complete a race  (Opti red group, 420, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial and Europe) after a long day out on the water in the Bay of Palma. Manuel Fraga, sports director of the RCNP explains that unfortunately the light breeze came in late and very unstable.

“We knew it was not going to be easy, but we had to take the chance so that is why we sent the sailors out to the Bay of Palma. If wind appears you have to be out there ready to give a start,  Fraga explains, it has been a difficult replica watches day for the Race Comittee. We really hope to have a bit more luck tomorrow."

“Unfortunately the Opti red group has not finished their race, Pedro Marí, coach of the RCNP, explains that in winter there is no sea breeze like in summer: “sunset is at 17:21 and we have to get back to the harbour”. “it is a real pity, last week we had wonderful wind conditions. this is the only "but" of our sport.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is light and shifty in the Bay of Palma. .

We will try to start at 10:30 tomorrow and hope the participants of the 69 Trofeo Ciutat de Palma Bufete Frau, from 75 clubs (40 foreign countries and 35 national). The competition ends on Sunday.
